How Do You Join St. Luke’s Church? 

First, we invite you to be among us, and enjoy your time with us as our guest.  All people are welcome to attend our services and programs.  It will help us to connect with you if you fill out the visitor card located in your pew rack, and place it in the alms basin during the service as it passes you.  Also please be sure to introduce yourself to one of greeters on Sunday morning, and to our clergy. 

Once you have decided that you would like St. Luke’s to be your church home, here are a few ways to become a member: 

I Am Already an Episcopalian 

If you are already a communicant at another Episcopal Church, simply request a letter of transfer from that church.  Once transferred, you will be placed on our church mailing list and will begin receiving the newsletter and other important church communications. 

I Am Not Baptized 

If you are not baptized, but desire baptism, the first step is to meet with one of our priests.  The priest will explain the Sacrament of Baptism to you, and lead you through the steps necessary for preparation.  Holy Baptism always takes place during a Mass, and is especially appropriate at the Easter Vigil, the Day of Pentecost, All Saints Day, and on the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (Sunday after the Epiphany).

I Am Baptized 

If you are a baptized Christian, you simply need to transfer a record of your baptism to St. Luke’s Church.  If you know the date and place of your baptism, that is helpful, but not required. 

I Am Baptized But Have Not Been Confirmed 

If you are baptized, but not confirmed, we recommend our confirmation class (for children, families or adults) which is usually held annually, which will help you understand the history and structure of Episcopal worship, as well as the Sacrament of Confirmation, which is administered only by a bishop.
