Welcome to Saint Luke's Church, Germantown
Dear Friends, St. Luke’s Church, Germantown welcomes you! We hope that you will find this website helpful as you seek to find a church home.
As you look through the pages here we hope you will learn a bit about who we are. There are links that will take you to the life of our congregation, and links that will take you beyond to the larger church.
We want you to know that we would love for you to visit us or come make your church home with us. You will find a warm welcome from this great diverse Christian family.
The heart of our life is the Holy Eucharist. Here we offer our praise to God, most days of the week. Here in the Sacrament, the Lord Jesus gives himself to us in the form of bread and wine. You, wherever you are in your spiritual journey, are most welcome to be a part of this life. Please refer to our Weekly Schedule for a complete list of services.
We are located in the heart of historic Germantown just minutes from Center City, Philadelphia: the nation’s capitol during the Revolutionary War. President George Washington resided in the “Germantown White House” located just across the street from the church.
We look forward to sharing our many ministries, our beautiful church, and our warm welcome with you.
- The Reverend Canon H. Gregory Smith, Rector

**Updated News on Haiti**
From Sr. Adele Marie on the Sisters' website:
"Sr. Marie Margaret, Sr. Marie Therese and the 2 pre-postulants remain camped out on the soccer field at College St. Pierre, along with Bishop Duracin, some members of the diocesan staff, and about three thousand other people. Sister Marjorie Raphael is in Cange where daily living is far less stressful. We have not been able to make contact with Sr. Marie Margaret for the past week. We have spoken to the Bishop who assures us that the Sisters are well. A generous Associate has offered the Sisters a house for temporary refuge, but at present they have not moved from the field.
We have been deeply touched by the outpouring of prayer and concern for the Sisters’ welfare. Many have donated funds and many people have also written touching notes which we are saving for the Sisters in Haiti once they are in a position to read them.A special account has been set up at the Boston Convent for the Sisters in Haiti. The funds received will be used to restore and re-establish the mission of the Society of St. Margaret in Haiti. Initially, some of these donations may provide respite care for the Sisters once they are able to move to more beneficial living quarters."
Among our contacts within the Episcopal Church we hear talk of rebuilding. But it is far too soon to be able to say in any detail what the plans might be. What we can say is that the ministry that has been is continuing and will continue. We pray for a stronger and renewed presence of the Society of St. Margaret in Haiti in the coming months and years.
Check the site below for regular updates. Sr. Adele Marie has asked St. Luke's to raise, and hold, funds until she directs us how to apply them. Please remember the Sisters there, and all others in Haiti who are suffering, in prayer during this time of devastation.
